Meet Emmy!
Emmy Soll (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate based in North Carolina. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed her undergraduate studies at Oberlin College, where she double-majored in Psychology and French. Emmy is a proficient French speaker, and her studies have taken her abroad to places like Ghana and Senegal.

At the heart of Emmy’s work is a belief in the power of genuine human connection. Her counseling style is person-centered in nature, which means she meets each client with deep empathy, authenticity, and nonjudgmental support. Depending on what fits best for the person sitting across from her, Emmy often integrates techniques from DBT, CBT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Emmy understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming. She compares it to stepping into a cold swimming pool: uncomfortable at first, maybe even jarring, but she’s right there with you helping you settle in and find your footing. She welcomes the full range of emotions that therapy can stir up - grief, anger, fear, guilt - and also makes space for joy, humor, creativity, and growth.

Emmy's ideal clients are adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, panic, intersectional racial identities, life transitions, self-confidence, communication challenges, identity and sexuality exploration, and healing from trauma. Emmy is especially passionate about working with folks who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and/or neurodivergent. She is passionate about helping people build lives that feel rich, joyful, and deeply aligned with who they are.

Emmy encourages clients to bring their full selves into the counseling space, whether that includes fidget toys, sketchbooks, or simply the freedom to be a little messy. Her goal is to co-create a space where you feel regulated, grounded, and able to explore your inner world with curiosity and care.
