Meet Chase!

Chase Morin (he/him) is a queer-identified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate based in North Carolina. He earned his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, following nearly a decade working as a public school music educator. Chase brings this unique blend of creative energy, relational insight, and deep curiosity about human behavior into his work as a therapist—where he helps people explore how identity, culture, and relationships shape the way we show up in the world.

Chase also holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education and Performance and a Master’s in Music and Instrumental Conducting from the University of South Carolina, giving him a strong foundation in collaboration, expression, and presence—skills that continue to inform his clinical style today.

Over the past four years, Chase has worked in a variety of settings—including community-based programs and crisis services—supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and adults through life’s complex challenges. His approach is relational, experiential, and deeply affirming. Drawing from his educator background, he knows how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and understood—and he brings that same energy into the therapy room.

Chase works with clients ages 14 and up, offering support around relationship dynamics, life transitions, identity exploration, and non-traditional relationship structures like polyamory and ethical non-monogamy. He also helps clients navigate grief, sexuality and intimacy concerns, infidelity, and the process of unlearning cis- and heteronormative conditioning. His clients are often navigating layered experiences—and Chase shows up with empathy, attunement, and a deep respect for each person’s lived story.

His work is grounded in contemporary psychodynamic and humanistic theories, and always viewed through a trauma-informed lens. Chase has completed training in the Gottman Method (Level 1), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and an EFT Externship (2025). He blends these models with sex therapy-informed approaches to support emotional processing and relationship healing in a way that feels grounded and accessible.

Chase is a member of the American Counseling Association and SAIGE (Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities), and is committed to cultural humility, social justice, and lifelong learning. At the heart of his work is a belief in meeting people exactly where they are—with warmth, validation, and a collaborative spirit that honors each client’s strengths.

Fun Facts

Outside of work, Chase enjoys traveling to and exploring new cities with his husband, hiking, birdwatching, long-distance running, and drawing. As an "introverted extrovert," he finds balance in the quiet joys of a good mystery novel with a steaming cup of Earl Grey tea or a deep and existential conversation with an old friend. Chase is passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ folks and their loved ones on their journey toward self-discovery, healing, and healthier relationships.
