Meet Chase

Chase Morin (he/him) is a queer-identified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. After spending nine years as a public school music educator, Chase further pursued his passion for supporting others and became a psychotherapist, driven by a long-standing fascination with human behavior and the ways that relationships, culture, and environment shape our identities in interactions with the world around us. He additionally holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Performance from the University of South Carolina, and a Master’s degree in Music and Instrumental Conducting.

With over four years of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ youth and adults and their mental health, including in community and crisis support settings, Chase has developed a relational and experiential style as a therapist. Drawing from his background as an educator, he values the transformative power of authenticity in relationships and works to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. Chase believes that patients are the experts in their own lived experience, and he collaborates with each person to identify the best approach to fit their unique needs.

Chase’s ideal clients are ages 18 and up, looking for support with relationship issues, identity shifts, life transitions, and navigating complex relational dynamics such as polyamory and ethical non-monogamy structures. He also provides support for clients dealing with infidelity, ambiguous loss and grief, sex and sexuality challenges, and deconstructing narratives related to hetero- and cis-normative gender and sexual identity socialization.

His therapeutic approach is informed by contemporary psychodynamic theory, humanistic principles, and utilizes a trauma-informed lens. Chase has completed Gottman Method Training - Level One (2023), and Emotionally-Focused Couples therapy Training (2024), in addition to an array of other educational trainings focused on clinical practice with the LGBTQIA+ community. Chase integrates methods from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and sex therapy-informed clinical practice to support clients through deep emotional work and relationship healing.

As a member of the American Counseling Association and the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities, Chase is committed to ongoing professional development, cultural humility, and social justice advocacy. He strives to meet patients where they are, emphasizing empathy, validation, and a strengths-based perspective in all interactions.

Fun Facts

Outside of work, Chase enjoys traveling to and exploring new cities with his husband, hiking, birdwatching, long-distance running, and drawing. As an "introverted extrovert," he finds balance in the quiet joys of a good mystery novel with a steaming cup of Earl Grey tea or a deep and existential conversation with an old friend. Chase is passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ folks and their loved ones on their journey toward self-discovery, healing, and healthier relationships.
