A Bit About Me

Judith Reyes (she/her) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina. She earned her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at East Carolina University as well as a certificate in Medical Family Therapy. Judith's ideal client is ages 5 and up, with presenting issues such as identity and sexuality exploration, relationship challenges, gender and transition-related support, premarital/relationship-focused work, support with life transitions, and cultural/acculturation issues. Judith is passionate about helping both the LatinX and LGBTQIA+ communities and has over 3 years of experience working with these communities in a clinical setting. Judith is an active Clinical Fellow Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).

Judith identifies as a first generation Mexican-American and speaks both English and Spanish. Judith is proud to be able to offer sessions in Spanish and is dedicated to providing services and support to those who are marginalized. Judith believes that our lives are made up of many relationships and these experiences in relationships can impact our emotional wellbeing. She strives to help her clients understand and improve their relationship with themself and with others. Judith’s both lived and work experience with the LatinX and LGBTQIA+ community has been formative in her clinical interests and passions to serve these communities.

Judith seeks to provide a safe space where clients can feel heard and understood. Her hope is for clients to feel empowered to share their stories and work toward creating narratives that are more fulfilling. Judith uses a collaborative and holistic lens when working with individuals, couples, and families. She often uses the modalities of narrative therapy, family systems therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. Judith is conscious that all clients are unique and is prepared to meet the specific needs of each client she works with.

Fun facts: Judith has two kitties, Bruno & Elli, and wishes to be a crazy cat lady. Judith loves going to coffee shops, exploring thrift stores, and binge watching shows like Survivor.
