We all run into challenges sometimes in life. Often times we try to weather these challenges alone, or with the supports we currently have. Despite our best efforts, this isn't always successful, and we can still feel run down, overwhelmed, distressed, or hopeless about the challenges we are facing. Psychotherapy has shown to be beneficial in reducing burnout, learning new skills to tackle challenges more effectively, and increasing a positive view of ourselves and the people in our lives. Our practice offers individual, couples, and family therapy to those looking for that extra support.
Whether you feel dissatisfied with your relationships, are struggling to manage symptoms of anxiety or depression, or just want to understand yourself better, sometimes individual therapy can be helpful in getting us on the path in life we want to be on. Individual therapy is appropriate for:
Individual parenting challenges
Stress and Adjustment
Over time in relationships, we can settle into dysfunctional patterns of communication, resentment, and avoidance of larger shared issues. Couples therapy is a great resource for couples looking to improve their communication and conflict resolution skills, heal from resentment, and deepen their emotional connection. Couples therapy is appropriate for:
Families often run into shared stress, conflict, and difficult adjustment periods as life unfolds and we adapt to the changes it brings. Family therapy has shown to be highly effective in improving relationships due to working with an entire family system on challenges, rather than just an individual, who is only one part of the larger family. Family therapy is appropriate for:
Stress and adjustment
Grief and loss
Assessments for Medical Readiness:
Often times insurance and doctors require transgender and gender non-conforming individuals to receive a mental health assessment prior to moving forward with medical interventions to affirm gender. Our practice is honored to walk with individuals through that journey, and provide affirming and compassionate treatment to assist individuals toward their medical goals. The assessment process can be daunting sometimes, and I work to make this process low-stress, easily understood, and efficient for all individuals seeking this service. I am competent in providing this assessment to individuals ages 12 and up.
